Position: R&D Senior Engineer - Hardware (M/F)
Department: Engineering Department
Location: Mumbai, Maharastra (India)
The day-to-day of an R&D Senior Engineer Hardware:
- Participate in the definition of the Development department, putting into practice daily actions for its implementation;
- Take the hardware design responsibility of a given project and deliver it within expected timeline, and cost;
- Designing the circuit/PCBs, testing prototype by developing driver code, and releasing it
o Developing test setup, test cases, Testing - bare board/assembled boards, and entire product;
- Following project life cycle processes, Developing and maintaining design release records;
- Circuit review, PCB review, Improvisations, Cost reduction, develop reusable data;
- Project documentation, communication (email, telephone, video meeting);
- Hardware fault tracking, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvements;
- Setting the technical setup of the hardware team (PCB Apps, Test Tools, etc.);
- Finding vendor, getting quotation, ordering (after approval) and installing required tool/setup;
- External certification assignment with any agency (ERTL, SAMEER, ARAI, CDAC, etc.).
What do we expect from you?
- Designing and developing the entire circuit and PCBs of any single or Multi microcontroller (32/16 bit) based system within expected timeline and cost;
- Designing the architecture, circuit/schematic using PCB Software (Altium/PADs);
- Designing PCBs (2/4/6 Layer) using PCB Software (Altium/PADs);
- Experience of managing CRs in Circuits/PCBs/BOM/Gerber and releasing it;
- Experience of developing complete prototype from scratch;
- Experience of interfacing CortexM3 chips, Ethernet PHY, JTAG, NVSRAM, RTC;
- Experience of developing connection diagrams, test cases, product testing;
- Experience of interfacing LCD, Keypad, Relay, Sensors (photo, magnetic, RFiD etc.);
- Experience of interfacing RS485, I2C, SPI, CAN2.0b, TCP/IP, USB, Wireless circuits;
- Experience in developing battery charging circuits for Lithium batteries;
- Good Team player, good at leading and enabling 3-4 hardware engineers;
- Communicator, Positive, CAN-DO approach, with sense of responsibility;
- Job estimation, Project planning, task delegation, tracking, reviewing technical jobs, doing RCA, managing improvements;
- Experience of developing circuits/PCBs complying to EMI/EMC, Surge, Noise etc;
- Experience of testing hardware using Test code (Embedded-C);
- Experience of reducing BOM Cost, Developing alternate circuit for obsolete parts;
- Experience in External test certifications e.g., EMI/EMC, Surge, Temperature at ERTL, ARAI, SAMEER, CDAC, BEL etc.;
- Experience in Project Life Cycle, PD/PLM o 5 to 7 years of experience of working in embedded electronics domain;
- BE/BTech/MTech (Computer Science), BE/BTech/MTech (Computer Science)

- Design, Develop, and release the utmost suitable or fail-safe hardware circuit/PCBs of a required product or system in the expected timeline and cost;
- Grasping the developed circuits/PCBs, developing repository and managing Changes in it;
- Planning and execution of tasks and solving hardware bugs and design release records;
- Generating knowledge base, reusable data with metrics and estimation norms;
- Product documentation and project documentation;
